The History of Geometry Dash

History of Geometry Dash 1

Geometry Dash is a rhythmic-based action platform developed by a Swedish developer, Robert Topala, in 2013. Later, it was developed by his company, RobTop Games, on 13th August 2013 for Android and iOS and on 22nd December 2014 for Windows and MacOS. It’s a game with an icon running and jumping through hurdles and spiky obstacles controlled by the player, and the soundtracks play throughout the level.

It has 26 levels, 3 requiring a specific number of coins and previous levels completed. The four platformer levels will unlock if the earlier levels are achieved. It also has a short-length level called The Challenge.

The Challenge is a level in which player can create their level, which can be uploaded and downloaded, which is also known as the level editor; it can be liked or disliked, scored, rated (in 12 difficulty ratings), earned coins (stars, diamonds, man orbs), can be shared with friends.

Gameplay

Geometry Dash APK full version is a rhythmic arcade game that can be played with a single button, touch screen, mouse, keyboard, or controller. It has an icon running through the hurdles and obstacles controlled by the player, with the music playing throughout the level in the background.

As the game starts, you will hear unique music; as the level progresses, the music will get speedy (you can also turn off the music from the setting option). The icon will jump, flip, and fly through dangerous passages and spiky obstacles.

When the level starts, you can hear the mesmerizing musical sound, its pitch moving up and down according to the complexity of the level. It often helps the player move in a rhythm, and the icon can avoid bumps.

The player having difficulty in any level can use practice mode. You can play it many times and set checkpoints that allow the player to start at these locations instead of the beginning in case of a crash, but it will not progress in normal mode, nor will he earn money or anything else. But its progress is recorded separately. A Green gem denotes it.

The length of the main levels is from 1:25 to 1:40 minutes. The levels are categorized by difficulty: easy, medium, hard, hardest, insane, and demon. The user levels have variations of Easy Demon, Medium Demon, Hard Demon, Insane Demon, and Extreme Demon.

Development

A Swedish video game developer, Robert Nicholas Christian Topala, created Geometry Dash. On 6th June 2010, Robert Topala created his first video game called Bounce Ball Thingy while studying civil engineering at the University. There was a diversion in his life; he froze his course and started working on his video game hobby.

After that, he decided to work alone and build up his company, RobTop Games, in 2012. His first video game was Boomingly(a puzzle game), created on 5th November 2012 for mobile devices. Later, he made many other games in 2013, such as Memory Mastermind and Boomingly Matchup.

Geometry Dash

History of Geometry Dash tells us that at the time of the first release, it had 7 official levels. The important and interesting point of the game was its creator level, in which the player can create his level. In the starting dates of Geometry Dash, it gained popularity worldwide, especially in Canada, where it achieved the title of the most popular paid iPhone app in June 2014. Only its challenging theme (challenging levels, and when the icon crashed and the level started from the initial point) helped to make his name known in history.
